My daughter, strangely, isn’t that mad about chocolate. She still managed to acquire 6 Easter gifts in chocolate of various shapes and sizes. Sadly this means they are tempting me every time I walk past. I’m going to give her a week to finish them. If not they will be melted down and made into brownies (which she prefers)!! I’m always looking for an opportunity to create a homemade gift.
Royalty appreciates the handmade gift
Over the holiday I finally had the chance to catch up on a number of TV programmes I had missed. One being ‘Our Queen at 90’ and was delighted to see that the Duchess of Cambridge had made the Queen a jar of her ‘Granny’s Marrow Chutney’ for Christmas. She noticed the next day that it was on the table.
Family and friends appreciate the handmade gift
Parents, Aunties and Uncles, Sisters, friends and Grandparents (even if they don’t wear crowns) love homemade gifts, especially if they have been made by little ones. This also means they don’t have to be perfect.
Give it a try!
I personally think homemade gifts are a fabulous idea – our friends, family and neighbours have received many Shortbread Birthday numbers in various flavours.
But CAN YOU EVER GROW TIRED OF SHORTBREAD – I think not!!!!
There are a number of companies out there which sell really lovely packaging in small quantities my favourites are The Tiny Box Company.
Surprisingly, handmade gifts make excellent corporate gifts
At the other end of the scale I receive many corporate gift orders. Whether it’s large or small scale everyone loves something handmade (especially a delicious home baked gift you can eat!) They make ideal gifts for employees and customers.
